The iron and steel industry is an important basic raw material industry in the national economy, and also an important pillar of our economy. With the rapid development of the national economy, China's iron and steel industry develops rapidly, the scale continues to expand, and has made great achievements. Since the steel production exceeded 100 million tons for the first time in 1996, it has always ranked first in the world's steel production, and in 2010, the output reached 700 million tons, and the world only 1.3 billion tons. However, behind the achievements, it is difficult to hide the operating difficulties faced by Chinese steel enterprises, China is only a steel production country, far from becoming a steel power.


An international financial crisis sweeping the world has made the entire industry weak demand, production growth has declined, market prices have plummeted, and the whole industry has lost money. However, every economic crisis inevitably leads to the survival of the fittest and industrial restructuring. We can see that in the economic winter at that time, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology thoroughly implemented the central government's deployment of "ensuring growth, ensuring people's livelihood, and ensuring stability", implemented the "Steel Industry Adjustment and Revitalization Plan", and led the steel industry to respond to the crisis with the power of information technology while finding a way to sustainable development.


In this encouragement and support, iron and steel enterprises further armed themselves with information means, including Rongcheng Iron and steel, many iron and steel enterprises informatization construction investment not only did not reduce but increased. China's iron and steel industry in the "integration of the two" with the help of efforts to adjust, slowly out of the crisis, to the goal of becoming stronger. To this end, we interviewed Zhang Ronghua, general manager of Tianjin Rongcheng United Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. to explore the road of informationization of Rongcheng Iron and Steel Group.
